The Legacy of Gasull

When paved roads did not ribbon the Catalonian countryside as they do now, olive oil was carried on the back of a donkey and sold by farmers who harvested the olives and created their own unique blend of oil.
Huge ceramic jars strapped on either side of a donkey enabled the first Felix Gasull to sell his olive oil in the 1800's.
Travelling from town to town he would ladle out this precious olive oil just as his father had done and his grandfather before him.
When Establecimientos Felix Gasull S.A. was established in 1835, olive oil was already a family tradition. Although much has changed over 160 years, one constant has always been Gasull's commitment to the excellence of it's master oil tasters, and the fine art of coupage.

Pressed at the family mill from only 100% ripe arbequina olives, Gasull today produces one of the most delightful gourmet olive oils in the world.
